Terms & Conditions

By accessing or using Rush ("the app", "we", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of the app immediately.

Description of service

Rush is a free, browser-based, real-time voting app. It provides:

  • Live, crowd-voted leaderboards across categories (best city, best college, best IPL team, best startup, and more)
  • Free vote multipliers ("boosts") — no payment, ever
  • Head-to-head "battles" between two contenders, with a live share bar
  • A live "N people online now" counter
  • Shareable links to any battle or leaderboard

No account or sign-up is required to vote. Votes are public and shared in real time across everyone using the app — see our Privacy Policy for what data that involves.

Voting is for fun

Rush leaderboards are a crowd-voted popularity contest, not an official, scientific, or authoritative ranking of any kind (best city, best college, best IPL team, or otherwise). Results reflect what Rush voters picked, not an objective measure of quality, and change live as people vote.

Acceptable use

Rush is free to use, subject to the following:

  • Automated or bulk voting (bots, scripts, vote farms) is not permitted and may result in votes being discarded or access being restricted
  • You may not modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app's source code without explicit permission
  • You may not use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations
  • You may not attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its hosting infrastructure (including the voting backend)

Boosts

Boosts are free vote multipliers. Rush does not charge for boosts or any other feature — there is no payment processing of any kind. Boosts affect a contender's standing on Rush only; they have no effect outside the app.

Content and third parties

Category and contender names, images, and descriptions are used for identification and commentary purposes only. Rush does not claim endorsement by, or affiliation with, any city, team, college, company, or product listed. Rush uses open-source libraries (including Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui), each subject to its own respective license.

Disclaimer of warranties

Rush is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app, its leaderboards, or its live vote/online counters will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate at every instant. The app may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Rush and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app — including but not limited to loss of votes, loss of data, or service interruption — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Intellectual property

The Rush name, logo, and all original source code are the intellectual property of their respective authors. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.

Changes to terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the app following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before resorting to formal legal proceedings.
