Privacy Policy

Rush ("we", "our", or "the app") is a lightweight, browser-based, real-time voting app. We are committed to your privacy. This policy explains what data is — and is not — collected when you use Rush.

Data we do not collect

Rush does not require an account. We do not:

  • Collect personal information such as your name or email address
  • Store payment details — Rush has no payment processing of any kind
  • Sell or share any data with third parties

Voting

Votes are shared and public in real time — every vote you cast is added to a public leaderboard that everyone using Rush sees. Votes are never linked to a personal account, because Rush does not require one to vote. A random, non-identifying session id (kept only in your browser tab, cleared when you close it) is used solely to power the "N people online now" counter.

Boosts

Boosts are free vote multipliers. No payment is ever collected — Rush has no payment processing to speak of.

Analytics

Rush uses PostHog for aggregate, privacy-preserving usage analytics: which pages are viewed, which categories get selected, and when a vote or share is made. PostHog sets a local identifier (in localStorage/a cookie) to distinguish anonymous visitors across a session — we never call PostHog's identify() function, so no personal profile is created and this identifier isn't linked to who you are. No personal data (name, email, etc.) is sent to analytics, since Rush never collects any. No analytics data is sold or shared with third parties.

Sharing

The "Share the battle" feature builds a link to the current page and opens your browser's native share flow (e.g. an X/Twitter compose window) — Rush does not post on your behalf.

Third-party libraries

Rush is built with open-source libraries (including Next.js, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, and others). These run in the browser or on our hosting infrastructure and do not receive your personal data beyond what's described above.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Rush's features evolve. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
